Weekend tremorsin bureaucracy… The conundrum of double pay
There was an earthquake of “dismissal and assignment” in the bureaucracy over the weekend. After the privatization of some sugar factories, the prize for the sugar crisis was passed on to Türkşeker managing director and board chairman Mücahit Alkan. Alkan was fired. Muhiddin Şahin was appointed in his place. Şahin was the head of strategy development at the Social Insurance Institution.
Following the news of Mustafa Çakır from Republic, Adem Dinç, Hakan Bilir, Mehmet Hasdemir and Mehmet Tunçak have been appointed to the vacant board members of Türkşeker. Among the appointees are Adem Dinç, Directorate-General for Human Resources at the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and Mehmet Hasdemir, Director-General for Crop Production at the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. Mehmet Tunçak is a former AKP MP. He is still Vice President of the Presidency for Political and Legal Affairs of the AKP. Tunçak’s résumé also states that he remains the chairman of the board of the Golf Association and a member of the board of directors of Gübretaş. It is questionable whether the names in question “get double salaries”.
The General Directorate of Agricultural Enterprises (TİGEM) was represented by Sait Kocabay, who was also Chairman of the Board. Kocabay also represented the Directorate-General at the GNAT committee last week. He was yesterday appointed General Manager and Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Hasan Gezginç has been appointed as General Manager and Chairman of the Board. Also head of the department in the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Gezginç, is the Turkish Sudan International Agriculture and Livestock Inc., which was founded with the dream of farming in Sudan, but so far has not been able to carry out any activities. He also acts as General Manager.
Durali Koçak has been appointed to the vacant Board of Directors of the Meat and Milk Institution. Koçak works in the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
