White House Office mining report could be released in August
The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy plans to release a report on cryptocurrency mining and its environmental impact in August.
According to Bloomberg’s report, the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) will release a report on cryptocurrency mining, following orders from US President Joe Biden.
OSTP is investigating complaints of power shortages in states like Texas, noise pollution, and many more issues related to crypto mining, including various issues.

“If this is to be a meaningful part of our financial system, it is important that it develops responsibly and minimizes overall emissions.
We have seen miners set up where electricity prices are low and secure reasonable industrial rates.”
Biden’s executive order tells OSTP that working with other bureaus and basically blockchain technologies are tasked with improving the environment to produce a report examining how the report is scheduled to be released next August.
